Cookies

A "cookie" is a small data file sent to the User's browser and stored on the User's terminal (e.g. computer, smartphone), (hereinafter "Cookies"). Data controller

Why do we collect personal data?

We collect data for the following purposes: analysis of website usage patterns, sales operations, after-sales service and commercial canvassing. Some data is collected automatically. In such cases, you will be scrupulously informed beforehand. Others are required by law and/or regulation (e.g. for invoicing purposes), while others are of strategic or commercial importance and require your prior consent.

In every case, we take care to comply with the regulations, which range from simple information to obtaining your prior consent.

Data collected through cookies

In accordance with current legislation and regulations, we automatically collect certain information when you browse our site. These data are as follows:

  • IP address
  • the date and time of your browsing
  • your browsing history

To ensure that this data collection is authorized by regulations, we provide you with an opposition mechanism by updating your contact preferences in the "my account" section of our website or by contacting customer service. Data collected when you contact customer service

You are likely to transmit personal data to us when you contact customer service, so that we can process your requests. Here again the legal basis is Article 6.1.b of the RGPD. The legal basis for this collection and processing is Article 6.1.b of REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation or "GDPR") .

Data retention

In accordance with current regulations, we inform you that data will be kept for the period strictly necessary for processing, in compliance with local regulations. For example, in accordance with Belgian law, we are obliged to keep payment and invoicing information for a period of 10 years.

Data processing

AKW International informs that it will process data in a lawful, fair, transparent, adequate, relevant, limited, accurate and up-to-date manner. AKW International therefore undertakes to take all reasonable steps to ensure that any inaccurate data is deleted or rectified without delay. A member of the AKW International team may contact you by telephone to ensure that the information you have provided is correct. AKW International will process your data in order to fulfil its contractual obligations to print your order and manage your customer account. Without this data, we may not be able to invoice you for the services you have ordered.

AKW International will also process your information to send you promotional offers and product information if you have given consent to do so. You may withdraw your consent to receive marketing and product information at any time by updating your contact preferences in the "my account" section of our website or by contacting customer service.

User rights

In accordance with Articles 15 to 22 RGPD, regarding the data we hold on you, you have the following rights:

  • right of rectification (article 16 of the RGPD)
  • right to erasure (article 17 of the RGPD)
  • right to restrict processing (article 18 of the RGPD)
  • right to data notification: rectification, erasure, restriction (Article 19 of the RGPD)

Any request to exercise a right must be accompanied by a copy of a valid proof of identity to enable us to ensure that the request does indeed come from the legitimate holder of the data concerned. You may also contact thecompetent supervisory authority in Belgium to lodge any complaint you consider appropriate.

Data transfer

AKW International informs that it may transfer data when necessary; for example to subcontractors such as carriers (BPost, DPD, UPS, ...) or contact segmentation tools (Mailchimp, SendinBlue, Airtable, Google Sheets, ...).

This transfer of data will be carried out in compliance with the guarantees, measures and rights provided for by current legislation on the protection of personal data and in accordance with this privacy policy.

Data retention period

The length of time we keep your data varies according to the law, and when constraints are less stringent, according to the legal recommendations in force and our needs. For example, we are legally required to keep invoices for a period of 10 years. Invoice data is therefore kept for 10 years.
